Roswell Park Cancer Institute recently learned that it will be the recipient of New York State and Federal funds in the upcoming year. $1.5 million in Federal funding will be applied to purchasing a new CT scanner and to promote lung cancer screenings in underserved populations. Additionally, the cancer center will receive over $2 million from New York State for research facilities.
Lung cancer screening is an important step in catching cancer at its early, treatable stages. Talk to your doctor about whether lung cancer screening is advisable for you, especially if you spent years working for a railroad.
