Michael L. Torcello is a partner at Doran and Murphy where he has worked since even before his graduation from law school. Like our entire staff, he is committed to ensuring effective legal representation for those seriously injured due to the negligence of others. Since his admission to the bar, Michael has successfully represented victims of serious injury in trial and appellate courts in New York, Ohio and surrounding states.

Michael has focused his practice on representing injured railroad workers suffering from various serious injuries and occupational diseases, including mesothelioma, cancer, asbestosis, silicosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His experience has enabled him to successfully achieve verdicts and settlements for workers suffering from the harmful effects of exposure to asbestos, silica and diesel exhaust. He has also enjoyed success in the appellate courts of New York and Ohio. Michael is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice where he is a former Chair of the Railroad Section.

Michael is dedicated to maintaining the high quality of legal representation that those in the rail industry have come to expect from Doran and Murphy and to ensuring that injured railroad workers continue to have the benefit of the protections afforded them by the Federal Employers Liability Act. Michael is devoted to protecting the interests of people and families suffering from the effects of serious personal injuries and occupationally-related diseases.

When he isn’t practicing law, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, and his two adult children, Michael and Marissa. He also has an avid interest in the horse racing industry in Western New York. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Western New York Harness Horsemens’ Association and the United States Trotting Association.
